Good things come is small packages

BT Financial Group set the challenge to significantly reduce the number of pages in their corporate superannuation PDS for the May 08 launch. A project team working with the legal and marketing teams took three months from idea to delivery and delivered a 24 page document.

Utilising ‘Incorporation by Reference’ our aim was to ensure that the new PDS be customer focused, use plain English and information be easy to find and understand. As a result the PDS Chant West ranking moved from 4 apples to 5 apples in the member services category

Reducing the page count from 148 pages to 24 pages realised significant savings in print and distribution.

For many years, Government and the Financial Services Industry have been pursuing the page reduction and simplifying the content complexity of PDS’s.

We cracked it. It’s one of the first on market and has been well received by BT customers and their industry colleagues.

At last Project Management workshops – that work!

Recently, All Marketing Projects has been asked to conduct fundamental project management training to our clients marketing teams. As demand has increased, along with our enjoyment in sharing our knowledge of project management we have developed a module based project management workshop to suit busy marketing teams.

These workshops are customised to suit your business and team’s requirements – and are used to fill the skill gap in your team. Modules include the importance of planning, scheduling and delivery of your projects. Stakeholder management and communication is also very popular as increasingly projects are working with multiple levels of management and project teams are getting bigger.

These are hands-on workshops and we use real examples to demonstrate how the fundamental disciplines of project management have supported successful project delivery.

Introducing project management skills into your team delivers immediate benefits to your ongoing projects. Working with consistent structure and planning, deadlines are identified and project communications among team members is strengthened.

Interested in finding out more? Let’s discuss how we can bring the fundamentals of project management to your team. You can contact us at info@projects.com.au.

Ulan Bator or bust!

Team Emu Draft is two determined women who have entered the 2008 Mongol Rally. They are going to drive a tiny car a third of the distance of the earth’s surface, from London to Ulan Bator in six weeks to raise lots of money for charity. We were so impressed with their efforts we immediately signed up as sponsors.

‘We think we have what it takes’ said Sarah McBeath, ‘after all we are the only all Australian women team entered in the rally, we have little mechanical skills but we can read a map and we do know how to have a good time’.

The rally starts 19 July at Hyde Park, London and Team Emu Draft have six weeks to make it to the end of rally party in Ulan Bator. What an adventure! For all the details on the team and rally go to www.teamemudraft.blogspot.com.

Go, Girls!

Catalogue of the Year!

Congratulations to Kathmandu, Myer and Henry Bucks – winners of the three categories, 2008 Australian Catalogues of the Year. ‘As a judge for the Australian Catalogue Association, it is a hard job to find the winner, all the entries are of a high standard’ says Mary-Jane Daniher.

You can see all the winners on www.catalogue.asn.au.

It’s a web-site make over!

Our website was tired of saying the same old things – it was out of date, and needed a new look. So we sent it off to Web-site boot camp and www.projects.com.au has a complete new look.

We showcase projects we have delivered, have information on our project management workshops and our client list.

We love it – and look forward to welcoming you soon!

Time Out

April, I took a couple of weeks off to fulfil a life dream – I visited China. In three short weeks, I travelled from Beijing to Shanghai, cruising the Yangtze and Li rivers and was fortunate to visit some of the great treasures of this fabulous country.

Here I am standing on the Great Wall of China.

How about that!

THE GOOD NEWS ON NUTRITION

After an exhaustive review of the research literature, here's the final word on nutrition and health:

• Japanese eat very little fat and suffer fewer heart attacks than we do.
• Mexicans eat a lot of fat and suffer fewer heart attacks than we do.
• Chinese drink very little red wine and suffer fewer heart attacks than we do.
• Italians drink excessive amounts of red wine and suffer fewer heart attacks than we do.
• Germans drink beer and eat lots of sausages and fats and suffer fewer heart attacks than we do.
• The French eat fois-gras, full fat cheese and drink red wine and suffer fewer heart attacks than we do.

CONCLUSION: Eat and drink what you like. Speaking English is apparently what kills you.
